Food fortification! Really?

Last week, at the CHFA East at Toronto, I was amazed to see the variety of new organic food brands. A nutrition bar, for instance, had a high iron content (25% of daily requirement) with high phytic acid (which reduces iron absorption significantly). A better choice of ingredients could help reduce phytic acid and improve food profile with more proteins, vitamins and minerals. We welcome discussions to help you develop better products. Fortified food is not only more appealing to the consumers, but also more us.....

Sweet treats for dogs

I started baking last year and experimented with replacing sugar by a mix of Stevia and cane sugar. I managed to half the calories in chocolate pudding, hot chocolate and chocolate cake without having a significant change in taste. I also mixed Stevia in yoghurt salads and orange juice. I deciphered that chocolate and sour tasting recipes are good candidates for Stevia adoption.

Taste still remains the biggest obstacle in Stevia adoption. Over half the people who taste Stevia .....
